When anyone creates a profile based in ghana they are immediately given a free plus account. I sent a message to gayromeo asking them if they are in league with the ghanaian scammers, as their actions are actively encouraging criminal activity. They did not reply. If you went to a bank in your home town that had homeless people waiting outside; each of them asking you for money as you entered and left; would you use that bank if there were others in your town?
We have also attempted dialogue with Gay Romeo and what became clear was they approach this from a European perspective. They lack understanding of Ghanaian culture and the fact that the criminal justice system does not work in many parts of Africa. I knew and am aware of these kind of scams. I myself am an African and would never, even on invitation, travel any other African country except for Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and my home country Namibia. They even tried the scams on me.
I know of one who names himself Okairo or Kairo from Nigeria. Safest thing you can do is assume any guy from Ghana is a potential scammer. Money or funding will come up somewhere in the conversation, but they might wait for you to offer to help, rather than ask you direct. My advice is steer clear. One big scam, is Logan Taylor who proclaims his mother is dying in the hospital and he needs money for an operation to keep her alive.
He blames you if his mom dies! I told him of resources in the country he can contact for help but he insisted the only way to keep his mom alive is if i sent him money. What says you? Is it possible for those who have been victims to look thru the Ghana men profiles there and inform everyone if they have bad experience about any of those? Also, is it safe to say that if you start chatting with a POTENTIAL scammer or faker, that they immediately start talking about finding a business partner or looking for a job or saying that they are orphans?

He still has a team of people working for him faking it as his lawyer, a doctor and a brother. SMS him and say you are sending money via Western Union y and he is right on line within 1 minutes. Ask him to send you some documents to verify his claim and he is suddenly sick or his internet is down. Gervin gives a 5 star performance …expect lots of fake documents, excuses and general lies. Everything that came along was easily explained and in my mind was necessary. It started small with money for the internet cafe and as the intesity of the relatioship developed so did the needs, such as a cell phone so we could be in contact all the time, then a lap top so we had better communication with email at anytime of day or night. What made me open my eyes was the last time he had a need, being a sick mother in the hospital and how he manipulated me and had me believing that if she died without medication it was my fault!
I have since been able to completely cut him off but the emotional tie that was formed with a lier is more embarassing and painful than the money I lost. I have a suspicion that there were maybe two or three of them working together and that maybe he was never actually in Freetown but Accra the whole time. I am wondering now if anyone else had incidents with this guy who went by the name of Labesta on Manjam, Sexyjay on adam4adam and Lamjay on yahoo and msn. In hindsight I was foolish but hope that this might help someonelse who is being scammed by this guy.
